Coastal Dune Lakes Along 30A
Did you know there are 15 Coastal Dune Lakes along 30A? What makes these lake unique is that their mostly fresh water sits within just a few feet of the Gulf's salt water. During a heavy rain, the sand berms can breach causing a flood of frest water to pour into the gulf. This is called "outfall." The result is a rare brackish ecosystem that's home to both fresh and salt-water species.
One of the best ways to explore is by kayak, paddle board or canoe! You will have a chance to spot native birds, turtles and sometime dolphins near outflow areas. 30A has so much to offer!

LAKE POWELL
Lake Powell is the largest of the 15 lakes and is in neighboring Bay County. Camp Helen State Park offers kayaking,canoeing, and stand up paddle boarding to explore the beautiful lake.
CAMP CREEK LAKE
Camp Creek Lake is located in WaterSound.
DEER LAKE
Deer Lake can be accesses from the beach or through Deer Lake State Park. Deer Lake State Park offers a secnic boardwalk to the beach.
EASTERN LAKE
Eastern Lake is located at the corner of Lakewood Drive.
WESTERN LAKE
Western Lake is the most explored coastal Dune Lake in Walton County. Access through Grayton Beach State Park which offers canoe rentals and has adequate parking.
ALLIGATOR LAKE
Alligator Lake can be accessed through Grayton Beach State Park.
LITTLE REDFISH LAKE
Littler Redfish Lake can be accessed through Grayton State Beach Park.
BIG REDFISH
Big Redfish Lake streches across Redfish Village all the way to the gulf in Old Blue Mountain Beach. Named after the local redfish that swim in the waters.
DRAPER LAKE
Draper Lake is located in Blue Mountain Beach.
OYSTER LAKE
Oyster Lake is also located in the Dune Allen community. There is a pedestrian bridge over the lake where you can walk out and truly enjoy the views.
LAKE ALLEN
Lake Allen is on the north side of 30A in the middle of Dune Allen Beach Community. The best way to view Lake Allen is by eating at Stinky's Fish Camp.
STALLWORTH LAKE
Stallworth Lake is a small lake located in Dune Allen Community
MORRIS & CAMPBELL LAKE
Morris Lake and Capmbell Lake are both located in Topsail Hill Nature Preserve. You can rent kayaks from the state park to explore Campbell Lake.
FULLER LAKE
Fuller Lake is located inside Coffeen Nature Preserve. Coffeen Nature Preserve is private and requires an appointment in order to visit.
